MANUALS, TECHNICAL: AIRCRAFT ENGINE
INTERMEDIATE AND DEPOT MAINTENANCE, PREPARATION OF
(WORK PACKAGE CONCEPT)
This specification is approved for use by the Naval Air Warfare Center, Department of
the Navy, and is available for use by all Departments and Agencies of the Department of
Defense within the distribution limitations noted at the bottom of this page.
1. SCOPE
1.1 Scope. This specification covers technical manual content requirements for preparation
of aircraft engine intermediate and depot maintenance instructions in work package (WP) format
for uninstalled reciprocating and gas turbine engines, including turboprop and turboshaft. This
specification also covers requirements for an intermediate maintenance manual supplement for the
installation, positioning, and identification of external tubing, cabling, clamping and attaching
hardware and a Sequence Control Chart (SCC) that graphically depicts accomplishment of
complete engine repair. When specified by the requiring activity, an Illustrated Parts Breakdown
(IPB) shall be included.
1.2 Classification. The types of technical manuals covered by this specification are
intermediate level, depot level, and combination intermediate and depot data as specified in the
MIL-DTL-81927.
