6.4
Definitions
6.4.1 Sets, kits, outfits (SKO). SKO are assemblages of components, mission specific and
common tools in a container (pouch, box, chest, van, trailer or shelter) primarily designed to
accomplish a specific mission or maintenance function. SKO are a major item of supply, type
classified, configuration controlled by a SC and LIN authorized in accordance with basis of issue
plan (BOIP) to organizations under provision of The Army Authorization Documents System
(TAADS).
6.4.2 Set. A collection of tools/components used by a group section, squad, platoon or unit
usually supplemented by tool kits to perform an organizational mission, type classified, assigned a
LIN, and with a unit of issue of Set (SE).
6.4.3 Kit. An assembly of tools/components in a small pouch or box, designed for use and
carry by an individual or crew, and type classified with a unit of issue of kit (KT).
6.4.4 Outfit. An assemblage of tools or equipment, type classified with a unit of issue of
outfit (OT) assigned a LIN, and may include separately type classified items as a component such
as; Pneumatic Tool and Compressor Outfit, Tool Outfit Hydraulic Systems Repair, and Tool
Outfit Pioneer Portable Electric Tools.
6.4.5 Supply catalog (SC). The DA publication which is the configuration control
document that provides user identification of a SKO and its components. It also provides user
supply management data and is an accountability aid.
6.5 Subject term (key word) listing . The following is a list of subject terms that allows for
identification of this SC during retrieval searches.

6.6 Changes from previous issue. Marginal notations are not used in this revision to
identify changes with respect to the previous issue due to extent of the changes.
