MIL-PRF-63045 Manuals, Technical: Preparation Of Depot Manuals For Depot Test, Measurement, And Diagnostic EquipmentThis specification contains the requirements for the preparation of depot manuals \(DM\) covering operation, maintenance, and calibration procedures for depot test, measurement and diagnostic equipment \(TMDE\). These requirements are applicable to manuals for equipment which is used for diagnostic and acceptance testing of field equipment items returned to the depot for reconditioning.

6.3 Technical manuals. The requirement for technical manuals should be considered when this

specification is applied on a contract. If technical manuals are required, specifications and standards that

have been cleared and listed in DoD 5010.12-L, Acquisition Management Systems and Data Requirements

Control List (AMSDL) must be listed on a separate Contract Data Requirements List (DD Form 1423),

which is included as an exhibit to the contract. The technical manual must be acquired under separate

contract line item in the contract.

6.4.1 Commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) manuals. Manuals available off-the-shelf from a commercial

source which include operation, maintenance, and other instructions for commercial equipment. Commercial

manuals are prepared to support the equipment in the commercial market.
