3.5.3.3 TCTO veriication. Subparagraph 1.3 of the TCTO shall indicate if the updating change/modiication
veriication was accomplished in compliance with TO 00-5-15. The date, location, and equipment (serial
number when applicable) on which veriication was accomplished shall be indicated (see Figure 3 and Figure
5). If TCTO veriication has been waived, the ofice symbol, e-mail address and Defense Switched Network
3.5.4 Purpose (paragraph 2). This paragraph shall provide a concise explanation of the purpose of the
TCTO, including reasons for any inspection, replacement or modiication/retroit change required (see Figure
2 through Figure 5). Suficient background information shall be included in all TCTOs concerning conditions
that caused the retroit change and the affect noncompliance shall have on mission capability. The failure,
incidents or conditions that make this retroit change necessary shall be summarized. If applicable, this
paragraph shall identify the Material Improvement Project (MIP), Modiication (MOD), Engineering Change
Proposal (ECP), production change point, and/or class modiication number that the retroit change
will incorporate. For Record TCTOs, subparagraph 2.1 shall contain the statement shown in 3.2.3.3.2.
Subparagraph 2.2 shall contain the information required above.
3.5.5 When to be Accomplished (paragraph 3). The time limit for accomplishment of the TCTO, as
established by the AFTO Form 873 (see 6.6), shall be stated in this paragraph (see 3 through 5). Computer
program involvement shall always contain the statement "As directed by the using activity, but not later than
X days after receipt of this TCTO and affected software (computer program)."
3.5.5.1 Immediate Action statement. Time compliance for IMMEDIATE ACTION TCTOs shall, under all
circumstances, state: "Immediate [discontinued use or operating restriction] of affected system/equipment
pending performance of the directed action."
3.5.5.2 Urgent Action statement. Without exception, time compliance for URGENT ACTION TCTOs shall
state: "Not later than X days after receipt of [this TCTO or this TCTO and kits/parts]. Failure to accomplish
this TCTO by the preceding speciied number of days shall result in discontinued use of the affected
system/equipment." The acquiring activity (see 6.2l.) shall determine the time limits for accomplishment.
3.5.5.3 Routine Action statements. The acquiring activity (see 6.2m.) shall specify the time compliance for
ROUTINE ACTION TCTOs and shall include one of the following statements:
a. Routine Safety Inspection Organizational/Intermediate Level TCTOs. "Not later than (#) days
after receipt of this TCTO. Affected system/equipment shall be removed from service if this
TCTO is not accomplished within the speciied number of days, or 60 days prior to the TCTO
rescission date, whichever comes irst." The speciied number of days for accomplishment shall
be provided on AFMC Form 873 (see 6.6).
b. Routine Action, Organizational/Intermediate Level, Safety TCTO. "Not later than ____ days after
receipt of (this TCTO) (kits) (parts) (special tools). Failure to accomplish this TCTO by the
preceding speciied number of days, or 60 days prior to the TCTO rescission date, whichever
comes irst, shall automatically restrict operations or shall be justiication for withdrawing affected
system/equipment from service until compliance is accomplished." The speciied number of days
for accomplishment shall be provided on AFMC Form 873 (see 6.6).
c. Routine Action, Organizational/Intermediate Level TCTO. Organizational/Intermediate level TCTOs
having a compliance period in terms of days shall read: "Not later than ____ days after receipt
of (this TCTO) (kits) (parts) (special tools). Failure to accomplish the work by expiration of the
compliance period, or 60 days prior to the TCTO rescission date, whichever comes irst, shall
be justiication for withdrawing the affected system/equipment from service until compliance
is accomplished." The speciied number of days and requirements for accomplishment shall
be provided on AFMC Form 873 (see 6.6).
d. Routine Action, Organizational/Intermediate Level, Based Upon Maintenance Practice. When the
time period for accomplishment cannot be speciied as a certain number of days after receipt of
the TCTO, kits, parts or special tools, the TCTO may specify compliance at the time a known
maintenance event occurs, such as "At the time of removal from Emergency War Order (EWO)
status (or During scheduled modernization action). If not complied with by (date), or 60 days
