SCOPE

1.1 Scope. This speciication covers the requirements for the preparation of the On-Equipment Maintenance
Manual Set (OMMS) for USAF equipment. Use of Standardized System Subsystem Subject Number (SSSN)
assignment in accordance with MIL-STD-1808 provides maximum cross referencing, reducing the research
time required to locate needed data. DTDs, TDTs, and other iles in the DSS for electronic delivery of data
can be accessed at the Technical Manual Speciications and Standards (TMSS) website ). see A.4.1 The
requirement for paper delivery of manuals is allowed in TO contracts for QA purposes only.
1.2 Detail. The level of detail contained in this Detail Speciication is necessary to comply with the
requirements of the Joint Computer-aided Acquisition and Logistics Support (JCALS) system.
